No Nonsense State of Play
Playstation had their State of Play presentation yesterday on May 30. As with most of these showcases people went in with expectations and a wishlist of games to be announced, I however had nothing in mind and went in with no expectations. These following games were both copy-pastes of already existing properties or remakes, but the few original ideas had me actually curious. Let's see what was shown:
- Concord (Firewall Studios)
- Looks like another Overwatch clone
- 5v5 shooter online play
- Prefer to watch a movie based on the characters than actually play the game.
- God of War: Ragnarok
- Now on PC
- "Unlocked" frame rates
- Honestly looks the same if you ask me
- Dynasty Warriors Origins
- Looks alright
- Control armies and also be a one man army as ususal
- Infinity Nikki
- Cute anime girl with talking animal companion doing cute shit
- Looks like a relatively simple action/adventure RPG
- Seems like you can customize your home base
- Emphasis on a camera dynamic
- May or may not have a deep story, as hinted at the end of the trailer
- Ballad of Antara
- Visually stunning
- Multiple playable characters with unique fighting styles
- Shocking boss and enemy design
- Looks to be a rather difficult and combat heavy experience
- Lore building in the trailer was fantastic
- Skydance's Behemoth
- Dark fantasy VR game
- Uses sword, bow/arrow and fists in combat
- Seems like the titular Behemoths are treated as gods, and the player must hunt them?
- Alien Rogue Incursion
- VR survival horror set in the Aliens universe
- That's it
- Marvel Rivals
- The Marvel Overwatch clone
- Visually entertaining stages
- Team up maneuvers
- Still a PvP shooter
- Where Winds Meet
- Chinese mythology souls-like
- Incredible fight choreography and animation
- Mythological motifs and original score boast stupendous cultural representation
- Looks to be a great single-player experience
- Until Dawn Remake for PS5 and PC
- that's it
- Path of Exile 2
- Isometric combat focused on brutal layouts
- Couch Co-Op, Cross-Play and Progression
- Looks pretty dope for a horror fantasy
- Silent Hill 2 Remake
- Humans look like dookie water
- Monsters look cool though
- Monster Hunter Wilds
- It seems we actually get a story of sorts this time
- New cast of characters to accompany us
- Seems that hunting will be done by separating the "alpha" from the pack and using the surroundings to make the pack not follow the player
- Combat seems to focus on more counter mechanics than usual
- Sandstorms are used to cause major damage on packs
- Astro Bot PS5
- A "game-ass" looking game
- Just pure unfiltered fun
- 3D action platformer with other bots dressed as iconic PlayStation characters
- Looks more like a Nintendo game, in a good way
And that ends the no nonsense recap, my dudes. Hope this entertained you for a bit while taking a break from your busy schedule. I wish you have a fantastic day, and take care!
No nonsense indeed! I liked it!
